In our updated ‘About us’ on the website we look at George’s sporting achievements, we looked at his triumph at Ironman UK 2022. Yet, there’s another victory that deserves the spotlight—George’s win at Smithy’s Charity Trail Run in the same remarkable year. As a testament to his commitment to community causes, G M Windows and Doors proudly stands as one of this year’s sponsors for the event.
Smithy’s Charity Trail run is a 5-mile route taking in some stunning scenes around Bolton but more importantly, the money raised will go to Bolton Hospice.
This charity event is the brainchild of Matt Smith, a close friend and training companion of George. Matt established Smithy’s Charity Events to honour his father’s memory, who sadly succumbed to Motor Neurone Disease seven years ago after spending six months under the care of Bolton Hospice.
George’s commitment to supporting local events and causes is evident, and the Smithy’s Charity Trail Run holds a special place in his heart. It’s more than a race; it’s a meaningful contribution to a cause that aligns with the values of community and compassion.
